The Dreamsicle Arts
Listening Club

is dedicated to presenting quality original music in an intimate setting.  We call these events Soul Recitals to pay homage to the intimacy and exclusivity of the traditional, classical chamber recital. However, our events feature unique performers in every genre of the highest quality who are not often available to our local community. From Rock to Reggae, Latin to Funk, Country to Classical and more, you will find it here. Please join us for these special events at our studio in Suncook and other wonderful, intimate venues .

Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek

Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek, We are so happy to be able to bring Adrianne Lenker and her partner Buck Meek to the Listening Club. Adrianne and Buck are kicking off their cross country tour - self described as Maine to Texas - and we are their first stop! Vinx met Adrianne when she was a student of his at the Berklee College of Music. He knew right away that she was something special. To us, she brings to mind a mix of Jewel, Ani DeFranco and Ingrid Michaelson. We are especially pleased to be able to support this tour... Adrianne and Buck are doing it old school...cross country by van. No big label, no big budget (amazing when you hear how talented they are)...just out on the road performing. We love that and we know that you will too.

Adrianne's Bio: Hailing from Minneapolis, the city that birthed legends like Paul Westerberg, Bob Mould and His Royal Purpleness, Adrianne Lenker is an authentic, passionate singer, songwriter, and performer. Her debut CD, "Stages Of The Sun", was released on LucidTunes when Adrianne was only 14. Her followup CD/DVD, "Live At The Southern", was recorded a few days before her 15th birthday in July of 2006 at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis. At 16, she shifted gears, redefining her style as folky and raw with an indie-pop edge. Shortly after graduating Berklee on a full scholarship, which was awarded by Susan Tedeschi, Lenker moved to New York City in 2012 and released her newest, and what she considers to be her true debut album, "Hours Were the Birds".

Adrianne's vocal influences have ranged from Billie Holiday to Bjork, and her sound has been described by blogs as "a mix of Laura Marling, Coco Rosie and Joni Mitchell." (Madmackerel.org) She won the 2013 Kerville Folk Festival's New Folk Competition, and was a finalist in the 2005 International Songwriting Competition. She has opened up for a range of artists, such as Susan Tedeschi and Ryan Montbleau. She is a poignant and versatile songwriter, and a exceptional guitarist. In a time of assembled artistry, Adrianne is a breathe of fresh air.

We couldn't have said it better and are very excited about this wonderful opportunity! See you at the Listening Club...

Virginia Rubino

"In The Sane" CD Release party with the Virginia Rubino Band In all of his travels, Vinx does not often find an artist whose classic voice reminds him of when he first started listening to music...you know, when we would listen to an LP over and over, as an adventure, hearing something unique and different each time. It was a time of distinctive voices, when you knew who was singing from just the first few notes.  Virginia is this kind of artist, and her writing style is really specific to her.  At times she reminds you of Janis Joplin's lawlessness, with an edge to it, but the vibrato of a Phoebe Snow and a Celia Cruz Latin approach...not that it's specifically Latin in style, but it has shades of all of these things that are part of that era in music history.  Virginia was in the original all women's rock band in 1976... achieving some level of notoriety, but as with so many of us, life took over and she found herself in other ventures.  But now she's back and Vinx and Jenn are thrilled to be part of her renaissance and resurgence.  We know that you're going to love her as much as we do and we can't wait for you to join the ride!

Her band consists of three brilliant Brazilian musicians that bring out the best in Virginia's original songs with an energy that can't be contained... so don't forget to bring comfortable shoes... you'll be on the floor dancing in minutes!

For this special event there will be a full buffet of food, drinks and dessert in honor of this special CD Release!  So... get your tickets quick... we're Goin' For A Ride!!!

Show 8pm, Buffet begins at 7pm Tickets: $20 online in advance, $25 at the door. Seating is limited to 50 so please follow this link to reserve your tickets... Click Here

Dr. Ysaye Barnwell

A Community Sing with Dr. Ysaye Barnwell Please join Dreamsicle Arts & Entertainment Group, in partnership with the Concord Community Music School, as we present the grand finale event of The Shire Vocal Summit... A Community Sing with Dr. Ysaye Barnwell.

Led by Dr. Ysaye, well known ethnomusicologist and former member of the Grammy Award winning vocal group "Sweet Honey In The Rock", A Community Sing (TM) is an opportunity for anyone who wants to sing with other people to come and do just that for 2 hours.  A community sing is conducted in the "oral tradition" so you don't have to read music or have any musical training.  Dr. Ysaye sings to the group and the group sings back.  We begin in a fun and easy way and in two hours we become a choir of uncommon voices singing with great joy in 4 to 8 part harmony and just as many rhythms... we raise the roof!

As you may guess, this event is expected to sell out, so please reserve your tickets as soon as possible.  The event will be held at the Concord Community Music School, 23 Wall Street, Concord NH.  Tickets are available online only at this link: www.brownpapertickets.com/event/663615
